PURPOSE:To cultivate a large amount of animal cell, by cultivating the animal cell in a specific culture bed circulating a liquid medium. CONSTITUTION:A culture bed 2 consisting of a fibrous structure or a porous structure which has polypeptide (e.g. gelatin) surface with the surface area ratio of 10-300cm<2>/cm<3>, 50-90% void and 3-50mm thickness is laid in a cylindrical culture tank 1, fixed by immobilizing members 3 and animal cell are seeded on the culture bed 2. Then a pump 7 is operated, a liquid medium having passed through the culture bed 2 is circulated through a line 10, a medium receiving tank 6, an oxygen feeder 8 and a line 13 to the culture tank 1 to cultivate the animal cell. |
