PURPOSE:To obtain a mat state suitable for a roof tile material by adhering a thin lead layer to the surface of a water-cooled roller drum, peeling off the layer and chemically treating the surface of the resulting lead plate before winding. CONSTITUTION:A thin lead layer adhered to the surface of a rotating water- cooled roller drum immersed in a molten lead bath is peeled off to produce a lead plate. Before the lead plate is wound around a reel, the surface of the lead plate is chemically treated with an alkali sulfide soln. or a copper sulfate soln.
