摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of a control circuit for an air conditioner, by employing such an arrangement that an inverter section is driven continuously until a capacitor at the front stage of the inverter section is discharged completely after a main switch is turned OFF at the time of stopping operation of the air conditioner, and thereby reducing charge of the capacitor to zero. CONSTITUTION:At the time of stopping operation of an inverter section 23, a main switch 21 is at first turned OFF and then current is passed to a compressor driving motor 2 with a PWM signal being produced, according to the sequence of program of a micro-computer 8. Thereafer, when the charge of a smoothing capacitor C1 is discharged completely, the PWM signal is turned OFF. Further, the power source for the entire outdoor unit is turned OFF by an indoor unit main switch 20, 1-3min after an outdoor main switch 21 is turned OFF, whereby operation for stopping the air conditioner is completed. Thus, since the power source for the outdoor unit is turned OFF after the charge of the smoothing capacitor C1 at the front stage of the inverter section 23 is discharged completely, it is enabled to enhance reliability of the control circuit for the air conditioner.
