An electrically conductive polyethylene foam which is in the form of a profile, e.g. a sheet, having a closed cell foam structure and exhibiting a surface resistivity of not more than 105 ohms/square. The sheet is prepared by a continuous method wherein an extruded, foamable, non-crosslinked preform containing a mixture of polyethylene, ethylene copolymer, chemical blowing agent, crosslinking agent and conductive carbon black is heated to produce the foam.
