摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body well matching a semiconductor laser oscillation wavelength and having high sensitivity by forming a layer containing a specified azo pigment as an effective constituent. CONSTITUTION:The layer 191 formed on a conductive supporting body 11 contains as the effective constituent one of the azo pigments 13 represented by formula I in which X is a diazonium salt residue; each of (n) and (m) is an integer of 1-4; R1 is H atom, alkyl group, or the like; R2 is H atom, alkoxy group, or the like; and Y1 is H atom, carboxy group, or the like. This azo pigment 13 is used as an electric charge generating material in a photosensitive layer 191, such as a laminate type photosensitive layer 191 obtained by laminating a charge generating layer 15 composed essentially of the azo pigment 13 and a charge transfer layer 17, thus permitting the obtained electrophotographic sensitive body to be high in sensitivity, and above all, extremely high in sensitivity in the oscillation wavelength region of the semiconductor laser.
