<p>PURPOSE: To improve the operability at editing time by making a cursor always indicate the position which is closest to a position that an operator sets last in a window. CONSTITUTION: If a cursor position that the operator set in a window being displayed goes out of the window after scrolling when a scroll command for the window is supplied, the cursor position coordinates is saved and the cursor is positioned at the window end after the scrolling. Then, it is determined thereafter whether or not the cursor position is set to the window end or the saved cursor position according to which of 1st-4th quadrants based upon the saved cursor position as its origin the window after scrolling is positioned in, and the cursor position is updated. The cursor position which is thus determined is always present in the window after scrolling and indicates the position which is closest to the initial cursor position which is saved in the window. Consequently, a screen scrolling quantity and a cursor movement quantity can be minimized.</p> |
