<p>PURPOSE: To obtain an oral medicine rapidly raising the estrogen level in blood plasma to a level suitable for a therapy in small quantities by buccal administering estrogen contained in a shaping agent. CONSTITUTION: This oral medicine which is contained in a medically permissible nontoxic shaping agent in an amount of <=150 microgram, especially <=50 microgram of estrogen or medically equivalent esters selected from 17-β-estradiol or ethinylestradiol, is inserted into buccal vestibule in oral cavity, allowing this medicine to contact with mucous membrane of buccal vestibule for a sufficient time to raise the blood concentration of estrogen to the prescribed concentration. A mixture of a low molecular weight polyethylene glycols and a middle or a high molecular weight polyethylene glycols is preferred as the prescribed shaping agent.</p> |
