PURPOSE:To balance the supplied quantity of a lubricating oil to both crank journal and control valve oil systems by providing a crank journal system oil passage and a control valve system oil passage in parallel with each other, and making the area of the control valve system oil passage narrower during the low revolutions of an engine under a heavy load. CONSTITUTION:A lubricating oil in an oil pan 12 is fed to a main gallery 16 by an oil pump 13, and the main gallery 16 is communicatingly connected with a journal system oil passage 20 which extends obliquely downward at the front and the rear end of the gallery 16 and the position of a piston 3 to lubricate the journal system before and behind a crank shaft 2 and the piston 3. In addition to that, the central part 16a of the main gallery 16 is communicatingly connected with a control valve system oil passage 21 which extends right above to lubricate a control valve system 5 in parallel to the journal system oil passage 20. The control valve system oil passage 21 is provided with a throttle valve 25, and thereby controlled to make its passage area narrower through a controller 28 and a negative pressure regulating valve 27 during the low revolutions of an engine under a heavy load. |
