PURPOSE:To enable printing to be performed on both a cover and an inside paper of a bankbook by a compact mechanism, by a method wherein a bankbook cover mechanism has a bankboook leading in part, three pairs of carrier rollers, and one flapper. CONSTITUTION:A printing part exists on a left side of a flapper 11 of which an inlet 10 is closed, and a bankbook A of which an inside paper is printed is carried right through a bankbook carrier path 1 under a state where the bankbook is opened. When a seam (a) reaches an inlet 10, a sensor S1 detects that and a pair of rollers 7, 8 are stopped to be rotated. Then, the flapper 11 pivots downward, and the pair of rollers 7 to a direction of carrying the bankbook A right, the pair of rollers 8 to a direction of carrying the bankbook A left, and a pair of rollers 9 are respectively rotated to a direction of leading the bankbook A in. The bankbook A enters a leading in part 2 to be closed. A sensor S2 detects that and the pairs of rollers 7, 8, 9 are stopped to be rotated. Then, the flapper 11 is made to pivot upward, and the pair of rollers 7 to the direction of carrying the bankbook A left, and the pair of rollers 7 are respectively rotated to a direction of carrying the bankbook A back to the bankbook carrier path 1.
