CHLORINE ABSORBING CASE FOR ZINC CHLORIDE BATTERY

PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption of a freezer at the time of charging and improve overall efficiency of a battery by arranging a disturbance plate for restricting the convection of chlorine-absorbing solvent in the upper part of the solvent held in a heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:A disturbing plate 5 is placed in the upper part of chlorine absorbing solvent held a heat exchanger 3 to restrict the convection of the solvent. The purpose of this arrangement is to cause the convection mainly below the disturbing plate so that the velocity of the solvent flowing below the disturbing plate or over the surface of a heat exchanger is increased as the amount of the convecting solvent is constant irrespective of the presence of the disturbing plate in the case a same amount of gas is injected. This makes it possible to reduce the power consumption at the time of charging a zinc chloride battery and to improve overall efficiency of the battery.
