PURPOSE:To improve operability and to prevent a component from damaging by indicating that the number of times of image formation reach a preset quantity up to which printing can be performed, and printing the rest print quantity and stopping the operation of a device. CONSTITUTION:When a detachable component is mounted, a set data storage circuit 11 sets the preset print quantity in a counter circuit 13. Then the number of times of image formation detected by an image formation frequency detecting means 12 is counted down successively. When the counted value of the circuit 13 reaches zero, this state is displayed on a display means 15 and the circuit 11 sets the rest quantity of printing in the circuit 13. Then when the counted value of the circuit 13 reaches zero again, printing operation is inhibited from being performed. Further, when the component is detached in the counting-down process of the circuit 13, a detachment detecting means 17 detects that and inhibits the main body from operating through a reset circuit 16. Consequently, the operability is improved and the component is prevented from damaging. |
