The seal comprises two plates (1,2) fixed parallel to one another on the shaft. One of the plates (2) has a smaller dia. than the other, and has a number of holes (4)(3). Each hole has bent vanes directed alternately towards the tangential movement of the plate, so that air can flow between the plates through the holes independently of the direction of rotation of the shaft and plates. Air eliminated the circular holes acts as acurtain. A conical body surrounds the seal with which it has direct contact when stationary. There is no direct contact between them during drive for the reason that air flows between the plates. |
