The present invention relates to a folding box with an automatic base. Each lateral face 1 comprises a tongue 4 which can be folded down. Together, the said tongues 4 which can be folded down constitute the automatic base. At least two consecutive lateral faces 1 each comprise a tongue 4 which can be folded down provided with a tab 8, at least one of the tabs being separated by a folding line 7 forming with the bottom edge 5 of the lateral face 1 in question an angle substantially equal to half the angle formed by the two consecutive faces 1 when the box has been put into shape. The shape of the said tabs 8 is symmetrical with respect to the edge 5 separating the consecutive lateral faces 1 when the box is laid out flat. The symmetrical tabs 8 are joined together by their external surfaces. The present invention also relates to a cut-out for making such a folding box with an automatic base.
