The present invention relates to a process for controlling the weeds encountered in the cultivation of various plant species. The aim of the invention is to produce a process which makes it possible to reduce the applicable doses of clomazone with herbicidal effect, while increasing the tolerance of the plants which it is desired to cultivate to the said clomazone, without decreasing the herbicidal efficacy towards adventitious plants. This aim is achieved by means of a process for controlling weeds at the site of a graminaceous plant field, characterised in that quantities with herbicidal effect of clomazone and at least one photosystem II (PS-II)-inhibiting herbicide are applied to this site. This process is more particularly adapted to agricultural cultivations of graminaceous plants.
