LEUKOTRIENE B4 OR PRODUCTION OF DERIVATIVE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain a compound having excellent physiological activity such as leukocyte attracting action in high purity and yield, by reacting a halogen- substituted allyl alcohol with an acetylene substituted allyl alcohol. CONSTITUTION:An optically active halogen-substituted allyl alcohol expressed by formula I (X is halogen; Z is protecting group of H or OH; n-Am is n-amyl) is reacted with an optically active acetylene substituted allyl alcohol expressed by formula II (R is 1-5C alkyl; Z' is a protecting group of H or OH) in the presence of a base and palladium catalyst at -80-40 deg.C to provide the aimed product expressed by formula III. The compound expressed by formula I is a novel substance and is obtained by reacting a compound expressed by formula IV (R<1>-R<3> and 1-5C alkyl) with a compound expressed by the formula R<1>R<2> R<3>SnLi. The compound expressed by formula II is also a novel substance and is obtained by reacting a compound expressed by formula V with a trialkylsilylacetylene and subjecting the resultant product to desilylation or deprotection.
