Filter element. This element comprises a frame bounded by a border consisting of four peripheral spacers, - two first 1, 2 and two second 3, 4 peripheral spacers, parallel to one another -, for forming two parallel faces 5, 6 and for maintaining the spacing of these two faces, while at least one 5 of these two parallel faces is capable of forming the support of a filter screen 7, and while only one 1 of the first two peripheral spaces is equipped with at least one through passage 8 for communication of its outer wall with its inner wall, the other one 2 of the first two peripheral spacers being devoid of such a through passage. One application is the production of a compact, efficient and inexpensive filter. <IMAGE>
