PURPOSE: To provide an extrusion column type cooking device capable of preparing starchy products such as instantaneously eatable instant cereal products by connecting a hollow attachment having a special shape to the discharge end of an extruder. CONSTITUTION: The hollow attachment 18 is connected to the extruder 10. The hollow attachment 18 has an area and a length sufficient for fully and completely cooking food products within a sealed atmosphere. Then, the inner surface of the hollow attachment 18 is smoothed enough to accelerate the passing of the food products therethrough. It is preferable that the area of the hollow attachment 18 is within the eight times of the maximum area of the discharge port of the extruder 10.
