PURPOSE:To improve the input operability and sureness of coordinates by selecting and using optionally plural types of grids displayed at one time on a display device at the input of coordinates in a graphic process. CONSTITUTION:In case of the input of coordinates, an operator looks at the display screen of a display device 50 and moves a cursor 43 to a point near a desired grid lattice point via a coordinate input device 10 to decide the cursor coordinates. Then the operator decides whether a grid A selection button 11 or a grid B selection button 12 is pushed on the device 10. When the button 11 is pushed, the cursor coordinates are converged at the nearest lattice point on a grid A. This lattice point is stored in a data memory 60. While the cursor coordinates are converged at the nearest lattice point on a grid B when the button 12 is pushed.
