Hogging machine for hogging small-sized wood, in which a hogging wheel having a plurality of cutter supports rotates on a drive shaft in a housing, the cutters of which with radially aligned cutting edges cut off the hogged wood on a counter cutting edge at a mouth of a feed shaft in the housing front wall, the material being ejected through an ejection shaft by ejecting wings attached to the periphery of the hogging wheel. Together with the cutters which, for cutter adjustment, are provided with slots perpendicularly to the cutting edges, blades are screwed to blade holders, the cutting edges of which are arranged perpendicularly to the cutting edges of the cutters and have a length which enables the splitting of hogged wood to a large diameter, the blade holders, which are held against rotation in the slots, being arranged at distances which sufficiently shorten excessively long hogged wood, so that no jamming and faults occur in the machine.
