PURPOSE:To manufacture a Josephson element in excellent performance to be operated at high temperature by a method wherein an oxide superconductor containing an element alpha selected from the elements of groups IIa and IIIa, an element beta selected from the same groups and an element gamma selected from the elements of groups Ib, IIb, IIIb, IVa, and VIIIa is used as a superconductor while an insulating film is formed of diamond. CONSTITUTION:The title element as a superconductor is an element represented by a general formura (alpha1-xbetax)gammayOz(alpha, beta, gamma are elements as defined above) containing at least one kind of element alpha selected from the elements of groups IIa and IIIa, at least one kind of element beta selected from the elements of groups IIa and IIIa as well as at least one kind of element gamma selected from the elements of groups Ib, IIb, IIIb, IVa, and VIIIa, where X is the atomic ratio of beta to alpha+beta given by 0.1<=X<=0.9 while y and z are the atomic ratios given by 0.4<=y<=3.0, 1<=z<=5 assuming (alpha1-xbetax)=1. An oxide superconductor represented by said atomic ratios is applicable. A diamond thin film is formed on the oxide thin film using the oxide containing said element gamma as an evaporation source for the evaporation and then said oxide thin film is formed again on the diamond thin film. |
