PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of print errors with a simple construction without the need for a complicated auxiliary device, by effecting double printing when a pen printer suspends its printing operation and a predetermined period of time has elapsed. CONSTITUTION:When a printing operation ends, a CPU21 delivers a set signal to a timer 25 to actuate the latter to start timing. The timer 25 delivers a time-up signal to the CPU21 when a predetermined period of time (such a period of time that the pen point becomes dry) has elapsed after the reception of the set signal. In the case where the CPU21 receives the time-up signal from the timer 25 during the period from the time when it delivers the set signal to the timer 25 until the time when the CPU21 receives CR, LF or other code from the outside or when the CPU21 internally generates a print start command, the CPU21 generates an interrupt command, thereby to control a trial printing operation for preventing the ink on the point of a pen 3 from becoming dry. |
