PURPOSE:To increase high rate discharge performance by specifying the contents of sodium and calcium in lithium of a lithium negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:The content of sodium in lithium used as a negative active material is limited to 0.035 wt.% or less and that of calcium to less than 0.020 wt.%, and desirably the total content of sodium, calcium, and potassium in the lithium is limited to 0.050wt.% or less. A nonaqueous battery assembled by using this negative active material provides improved high rate discharge performance and the dispersion of its performance is also decreased. |
