PURPOSE:To facilitate the posterior fitting of a steering sensor by constituting the steering sensor by a reflecting tape constructed of repetition of reflecting surfaces and non-reflecting surfaces and by reflection-type photosensors disposed opposite to said reflecting tape. CONSTITUTION:A reflecting tape 1, which is fitted to the part of a steering rotary shaft, is divided in two layers, and one layer has only one reflecting surface 2 for a zero point, while the other layer has the repetition of reflecting surfaces 3 and non-reflecting surfaces 4. Photosensors 5-7 are disposed opposite to this reflecting tape 1 and detect the rotational angle of a steering wheel fitted with the reflecting tape 1. According to this method, the reflecting tape 1 is wound on the part of the shaft of the steering wheel 8, and the photosensors 5-7 can be fitted simply and conveniently to the lower part of a steering housing 9. |
