The regulated electrical power supply circuit consists of a rectifier (14), a filter capacitor (12), a two-point regulator (18), a controllable switch (10) in series with a capacitor (8), a transformer (6) and a synchronisation circuit (26 to 36). The controllable switch (10) and the capacitor (8) connected in series with it are connected in parallel with the secondary winding (4) of the transformer (6). The synchronisation circuit (26 to 36) results in it being possible to switch the switch (10) over only at the start of the negative half-cycle of the voltage (UL) on the secondary winding (4). In consequence, the losses in the switch (10) are kept low. The circuit has a small structural volume while having a high output power. <IMAGE>
