With the aid of the invert blocks, the discharge of the surface water is to be achieved in as natural a form as possible. This is made possible in that each block also constitutes an energy converter on the path of the water flowing to the valley. The flowing movement is consequently converted into a cascading, falling movement. Mixed with air, already reduced to zero again by the next block, the air/water mixture is swirled with the residual water in the invert block. This extremely important procedure is repeated, in the case of this system, at each block. A residual quantity of water is maintained in each block. This is, however, only possible due to the special form of said block, because all ground formations can be covered by only a small number of types. This system as well as the invert-block form which is necessary therefor form the patent claim. <IMAGE>
