The invention relates to a heat exchanger with plastic pipes or hoses having at least two layers. The thickness of the layers and/or the selection of the raw material depends upon the respective operating conditions. Pipe strings with at least two layers reduce the risk of cracks through production-associated grooves, which cannot be detected using test methods that are still economical. Higher-grade materials can also be avoided in this way.
