PURPOSE:To lower pulsation at the time of an on-off control by adjusting the draining speed of a shift valve to be lower at least while a returning means is functioning than the other times. CONSTITUTION:Since the engaging pressure of a frictional engaging device 102 having an accumulator 103 is gradually increased at the time of speed change while also gradually increasing an output shaft characteristic, an FCU 84 drives a solenoid S1 to turn a shift valve 101 on and off, returning it several times to the opposite speed-changing operation side to drain an engaging oil pressure, thereby, suppressing increase in the output shaft torque in the rear stage of speed change. At the time of this on-off control, an oil passage 108 to a drain control valve 130 is brought to an orifice 114 side due to rise in engaging oil pressure, to suppress the draining speed of the shift valve 101 to be low. Thereby, pulsation at the time of the on-off control can be suppressed to be low while rapidly carrying out the draining at the time of ordinary speed change as used to be.
