The invention relates to a process for producing cement suspensions with an especially fine average grain size of approx. 3 to 6 mu , defined by a 50 % sub-sieve fraction. Suspensions of this kind are required for injection purposes for soil consolidation or for soil sealing and for repairing building structures. The penetration depth of such fine suspensions is greater than that of suspensions of standard cements. The aforementioned suspensions were hitherto made from extremely finely ground cements which have various disadvantages. According to the present invention, a standard cement with a relatively coarse average grain size, which is above that required, is mixed with a liquid to form a basic suspension and pumped through a separator, the finest proportion being separated off, as a fine suspension in the overflow from the separator, for the aforementioned further use until the desired average grain size is established. The coarse suspension in the underflow of the separator may be passed on for other uses. <IMAGE>
