The invention relates to a rim lock to be fastened surface-mounted on a door and having a bolt which can be actuated by means of a lock cylinder and of which the bolt head preclosable in front of the fore-end face projects on a bolt-slide tail guided in the lock case. For variable-fastening use, it is proposed that the bolt-slide tail (Sch) and the bolt head (9) be designed as parts which can be separated from one another and which, in the connected state, are pin-secured relative to one another. <IMAGE>
