PURPOSE: To proceed the investigation and restoration of merchandise information in parallel to a registration processing accessing merchandise information by storing this merchandise information in a large capacity storage device if the destruction of the information is detected when the merchandise information on a memory is accessed. CONSTITUTION: This controller has a RAM 3 for temporarily storing merchandise information, a processing means 1 for accessing the RAM 3 at high speed and deciding the propriety of data included in the merchandise information on the RAM 3, a large capacity storage device 5 for storing detailed information on the error of a pertinent merchandise information if an abnormality is detected in data and an input/output control part 4 for transferring the detailed information on the error when the abnormality is detected. By storing merchandise information, detecting the propriety of data by accessing this information at a high speed and storing the merchandise information in which the abnormality is detected in the large capacity storage device, a part where a falure exists in the merchandise information on the large capacity storage device 5 can be easily investigated even if the article information on the memory is not accessed again. |
