PURPOSE: To determine an accurate driving direction by constituting the means of driving in the axial direction of drum with a plurality of caterpillars provided in a movable manner up and down, a transfer conveyer provided in axial direction, and rotating blades at the front end of a drum section and reversely rotating blades at the rear end. CONSTITUTION: As drive means in axial direction, eight caterpillars 2 are provided diagonally to the right in a downward direction on the outer periphery of a cylindrical drum section 1, a chain 6 is suspended from a wheel 3a at one side and is borne by a projected rod 7a supporting a center wheel 3b in a freely movable manner up and down. Also, eight belt conveyors 8 for sediment transport are peripherally provided in axial direction alternately between the caterpillars 2, and the inner wall of the tunnel is pressed by the caterpillars 2 for preventing the collapse of sediment. Then, front side rotating blades 10 are provided at the front end section of the drum section 1, and rear side rotating blades 28 are provided for attitude control of the drive machine installed in a freely rotatable manner in the direction reverse of that described above at the rear end section. In this way, accurate, safe excavation of tunnel can be realized. |
