PURPOSE:To obtain a high-contrast stable sensitive material by incorporating specified compds. into at least one of hydrophilic colloidal layers. CONSTITUTION:Hydrophilic colloidal layers including at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer are formed on a supporting body by coating and a compd. represented by formula I and a compd. represented by formula II are incorporated into at least one of the colloidal layers. In the formula I, each of R<1>-R<3> is H atom or a substituent and X<-> is an anion. In the formula II, each of L1-L4 is a bivalent hydrocarbon group, each of J1 and J2 is -O-, -COO-, etc., Y is H atom, a bivalent bonding radical or amidino group, Z is a heterocyclic group, G is sulfonic acid, carboxyl group, etc., each of R<1a> and R<2a> is H atom, alkyl group, etc., each of (k), (l), (m) and (n) is an integer of 0-2, (p) is an integer of 0-4, (q) is an integer of 1-4 and (r) is an integer of 1-2. The resulting sensitive material has high photosensitivity and very high contrast is obtd. by rapid development with an ordinary developing soln. having high concn. of sulfite ions. |
