PURPOSE:To attain magnetic recording with high density and to easily execute tracking correction at the time of reproducing by inclining the gaps of two independent magnetic heads mutually in the reverse directions from a recording medium advancing direction and recording the same recording signal by the two magnetic heads. CONSTITUTION:Recording/reproducing cores 11a, 11b have respective gaps 14a, 14b symmetrically inclined respectively in the reverse directions from the recording medium advancing direction (arrow F). When the heads 10a, 10b are off-tracked in a track II direction, respective distances (x), (y) are set up to x<y and the output of the head 10b generates phase delay time t1 from the output of the head 10. In case of off-track in a track I direction, x>y is set up and the phase is advanced by time t2. At the time of the off-track of the head, correction control information for returning the head to a regular position can be simply obtained by detecting the phase difference t1, t2. |
