PURPOSE:To widen a range for selection of substrates and to facilitate production of light transmittable bases by forming grooves or pits on both faces of the substrate, forming recording layers or the recording layers and protective layers thereon, sticking the light transmittable bases onto these layers and executing recording, reproducing or erasing of information by light from these faces. CONSTITUTION:After the grooves for tracking or pits are formed on both faces of the substrate 1, the recording layers 3, 3' or the recording layers 3, 3' and the protective layers 2, 2', 4, 4' are formed thereon. The light transmittable bases 6, 6' are stuck onto these layers and the recording, reproducing or erasing of the information by the light from the faces on the base sides 6, 6' is executed. Since the substrate 1 formed with the grooves for tracking or pits exists at the center of an information recording carrier, there is no need for transmission of light through the substrate. The range for selection of the materials to be used as the substrate 1 is thereby widened and since use of a flat plate as the bases 6, 6' suffices, the production is facilitated. |
