PRODUCTION OF CERAMIC SHEET

PURPOSE:To make the compsn. of a sheet uniform and to reduce the void volume by press-forming the sheet made from a slurry contg. ceramic fibers having fine ceramic powder stuck to the surfaces and ceramic powder. CONSTITUTION:Fine ceramic powder is electrostatically stuck to the surfaces of ceramic fibers 1. A slurry contg. the fibers 1 and ceramic powder 2 is prepd. A sheet is made from the slurry and press-formed to obtain a ceramic sheet having a uniform compsn. and a small void volume. A sintered body obtd. by calcining the ceramic sheet has a low coefft. of shrinkage by calcining and superior dimensional stability.
