PURPOSE: To provide a completely error free state in the case of message reception by providing a postage meter having units more than two respectively equipped with computer control and further applying communication between the units. CONSTITUTION: This postage meter is composed of a data input device provided with a 1st microprocessor for controlling the input of data, a printer and an account device. The account device is connected to the data input device in order to receive data, mechanically installed at the printer and provided with a 2nd microprocessor for controlling the account operation and a means for inhibiting data flow from each microprocessor just in response to the current reception of data from the other microprocessor while being operationally coupled with 1st and 2nd microprocessors for serial bit-by-bit data flow. Besides, the means to be coupled is provided in a pair of unidirectional transmission line connected for the opposite directional flow of data between the 1st and 2nd microprocessors. Thus, the error free account of postage is enabled. |
