<p>Device for measuring the blood pressure in a superficial artery, comprising a measurement head (6) capable of bearing on the skin (1) of the patient so as to compress the superficial artery (5) and cause, at a given pressure, the arrest of the blood circulation in this artery, and comprising, mounted in the head, a DOPPLER probe (9) supplying an ultrasonic wave which is reflected by the circulating blood and whose extinction determines the moment at which the arrest of this circulation takes place. According to the invention, this device is characterised in that the measurement head is integral with a piston (14) mounted slideably in a fixed body (15), delimiting a leakproof chamber (17) filled with compressed air whose volume is variable depending on the position of the head relative to the body, the pressure of the air contained in the chamber being measured by an associated control assembly (2) giving, after calibration, the value of the arterial pressure at any moment, and in particular upon the arrest of the blood circulation in the artery, as detected by the DOPPLER probe (9). <IMAGE></p> |
