PURPOSE:To ensure that the same image as a character image to be printed on a sensitive material can be seen at a desired magnification factor and contrive to prevent misprinting by a simple device, by providing a half-mirror between a lens system and the sensitive material and providing a zoom lens between an image pick-up part and the half-mirror. CONSTITUTION:A half-mirror 9 is provided between a lens system 7 and a sensitive material 8 on an optical axis, the character image passed through the lens system 7 is bisected to the material 8 side and an optical monitoring system 10 side, a part of the image is printed on the material 8, while a part of the image entering the optical system 10 is fed into a zoom lens system 11 either directly or indirectly, and it is focused on a TV camera of the image pick-up part 12 at an arbitrary magnification factor. The image can be enlarged or reduced at the desired magnification factor by replacing or moving lenses in the zoom lens system 11. Accordingly, printing particularly of small point size characters or deformed characters, short space printing thereof or the like can be performed accurately and easily. |
