摘要

1-(p-Fluoro benzyl) 2-(1-p-methoxy phenetyl) 4-piperidyl) amino benzimidazole of formula (IV), for use as an anti-allergy agent, is made by (a) reacting an isothiocyanate of formula 8I) with o-phenylene diamine; (b) cyclising the thiourea (II) obtd to give the benzimidazole deriv (III); and (c) reacting this with p-fluoro benzyl chloride.
