The automobile driving assistance system according to the invention consists in displaying, on the windscreen of the vehicle, fixed obstacles, such as the edges of the road, crash barriers, etc. (8 to 13), as well as moving obstacles which are both behind the vehicle 14 and in front of it 16 and at its sides 15. Complementary indications 17 make it possible to know the distance away of the moving obstacles and their speed. The display takes place by projection onto a reflecting coating of the windscreen, or by excitation of a photoluminescent coating, or by activation of an electroluminescent coating.
