PURPOSE:To manufacture a self-shrinkable tube capable of easily coating a body to be coated by executing specific spiral working, diameter extension, holding to a supporter and cutting to the tube. CONSTITUTION:The upper section of a mandrel 1 is covered with an elastic tube 4. The end section of the elastic tube 4 is turned over coaxially in the direction of the arrow of a broken line to the outside, thus forming a wound body 5 having a spiral sectional shape. The wound body 5 is transferred onto an expansible hollow body 6, which has a supporter 7 and a diameter of which can be extended. The diameter of the expansible hollow body 6 is expanded, and the supporter 7 is inserted into the wound body 5 and the wound body 5 is supported. The mandrel 1 is cut, and a spiral self-shrinkable tube 8 with the supporter 7 is obtained. The tube 8 is inserted to the outer circumference of a coating object (a steel pipe) 9, the wound body 5 is elongated, and a rubber coating 10 having strong adhesive properties is executed. |
