This protection device for the light of a taxi which is not in use according to the invention consists of a cover 1 which includes, on one side, a lug 5 and, opposite, a locking system with a key 2. The lug 5 fits into a notch 7 in the lug 3a of the support and the lock bolt 2a of the lock 2 closes into a slot 8 in the opposite lug 3. An elastic system 6 in the bottom of the case holds it in place. The lugs 3 and 3a have openings 9 allowing the passage of the supply wires and holes 12 for fixing to the lower face of the lamp body. <IMAGE>
