PURPOSE:To prevent improper reading, by providing an adjusting member whose one end is in contact with an original placing plate so as to scan a reading section while keeping the distance between the original table and the reading section to a prescribed value. CONSTITUTION:The original table 11 and a slide shaft 15 deform, because the distance between the slide shaft 15 and the upper end of a distance adjusting member 25 is unchanged and a roll 28 of the distance adjusting member 25 moves in contact with the original table 11 while being rotated if the distance between the slide shaft 15 and the back side of the original table 11 is shorter than the distance between the slide shaft 15 and the distance adjusting member 25. Further, the distance between the slide shaft 15 and the rear side of the original table 11 is made spread to the same value as that between the slide shaft 15 and the upper end of the roll 28. That is, the distance to the reading section 14 is kept to a prescribed dsitance. Since the front and rear ends of the table 11 are fixed, the original table 11 is mainly deformed at the running of a box 13, rather than the slide shaft 15 so as to keep the distance to the prescribed value. |
