The strip up to 140 cm wide and between 0.1 and 0.35 mm thick, is unreeled at 9 or 10 m/min from a roller unit through a degreasing unit with high pressure nozzles supplied from a detergent tank. Rinsing water is then applied before the surface is granulated. Further washing is followed by electrochemical surface processing involving oxidn. and/or silicate treatment which produces a monomolecular intermediate layer between the substrate and the copier layer. A two-compartment washing station cleans both sides of the strip before it is dried and coated. ADVANTAGE - Efficiency of process and quality of its end prod. are enhanced with effective recycling of materials. Sections can be cut from new or used Al or alloy with high-speed processing.
