According to the process, before the material is moulded a sheet of calandared fibrous material impregnated with melamine and prepolymerized is applied to the surface of the mould instead of a mould release agent, layers of fibres and other materials and resin are placed in contact with said sheet, and the whole assembly is polymerized in conditions appropriate to the resins used and under a pressure of at least 1 bar.
