PURPOSE:To obtain a superconductor stably showing superconductivity for a long period without using liquid helium and being influenced by a surrounding atmosphere such as temperature in air, comprising a compound containing strontium, copper, oxygen, fluorine, scandium and/or yttrium and/or lanthanide. CONSTITUTION:A superconductor comprising a compound containing strontium, copper, oxygen, fluorine, scandium and/or yttrium and/or lanthanide. A compound having the following composition formulas of (a) or (b) is preferable as the compound. (a) SrxA1-xCudeltaO3-yF3-z (A is scandium, yttrium or lanthanide; 0<x<1: 0<delta<3; 0<=y<=2; 0<=z<3). (b) SrxA2-xCudeltaO4-yF4-x (A is scandium or yttrium or lanthanide; 0<x<2; 0<delta<3; 0<=y<=2; 0<=z<4). |
