PURPOSE:To easily obtain a lengthy linear material with the uniform characteristic and straight-angle cross section by boring multiple grooves along the longitudinal direction on the surface of a linear metal with the melting point of 800 deg.C or higher, filling the oxide powder of a superconductor in them, coating it with a composite plate layer with the melting point of 800 deg.C, and sintering and heat-treating it. CONSTITUTION:Grooves 2, 2', 2'' with the width of 2mm and depth of 1mm are bored at an equal distance by cut machining on one surface of a straight- angle copper strip 1 obtained by rolling, the raw material powder 4 of the Y-Ba-Cu-O oxide superconductor in the first hopper 3 is dropped while the copper strip 1 is transferred in the arrow direction to bury the grooves flat. The pure copper powder 6 is dropped from a succeeding hopper 5 and accumulated on the flattened powder 4. The copper strip 1 is then fed between rolls 7, 7' and rolled and solidified into a composite paper 8. It is then sintered for 2hr at 950 deg.C in the oxygen atmosphere and heat-treated. A linear material with superconductivity at 84 deg.K and the uniform characteristic along the longitudinal direction is thereby obtained. |
