The subject of the present invention is a method and a system for regulating the pulsating of an apparatus for densimetric classification in a liquid medium, consisting of a tank sub-divided into compartments filled with a liquid subjected to pulsations controlled by the emission of compressed air into the air chamber 14 of each compartment, the products to be classified forming, in each compartment, a bed above a grille 10 immersed in the liquid. In order to reduce the energy consumption and improve the performance of these apparatuses, the frequency of the pulsations in at least one compartment of the tank is regulated as a function of the mean pressure in the air chamber 14 of the compartment, so as to keep the frequency of the pulsations equal to the characteristic frequency of the compartment. <IMAGE>
