<p>PURPOSE:To attain the adjustment of a tape traveling system without using a special adjustment tape by extracting a beat component between a pilot signal in a reproducing signal and an oscillating output of a prescribed frequency and using the beat component so as to adjust the tape traveling system. CONSTITUTION:When tracking is deviated so that a head HA traces the boundary of tracks, a pilot signal of different frequency is fetched from two tracks by a low pass filter 9. The pilot signal and the output of an oscillation circuit 11 of a prescribed frequency are multiplied, and the beat component between the pilot signal and the signal of a prescribed frequency is extracted. Only the beat component between the pilot signal from one track and the signal of prescribed frequency is extracted and the beat component is used to adjust the tape traveling system. Thus, the tape traveling system is adjusted without using the special tape for adjustment.</p> |
