PURPOSE:To enable a character pattern to meet a different code system by the user without loading down character patterns by providing a means to store a single character set, a replacement means to replace the character pattern of a character set with a different character pattern by an external command, and a printing means. CONSTITUTION:When a source code system number is (n) or less, a program proceeds to step S2, where whether a source code is (20)15 or more and (7F)15 or less is determined, and also whether any character pattern corresponding to the code exists is checked. At step S3, whether a destination system number is (n) or less is determined. If the result is affirmative, the program proceeds to step S4, where whether destination code is (20)16 or more and (7F)16 or less is determined. If the result is affirmative, a pattern pointer is replaced at step S5. |
